Dr Yaseen Khan is a medical doctor, clinical epidemiologist, and the co-founder and CEO of EMGuidance (Essential Medical Guidance), a leading digital clinical support platform for healthcare professionals. He trained in medicine at Stellenbosch University and practiced as both a general practitioner and emergency room physician in South Africa before moving into health technology and innovation.
Under his leadership, EMGuidance has become one of South Africa’s most widely used clinical decision-support tools, providing locally relevant medical information, prescribing guidance, e-learning resources, and clinical tools to tens of thousands of healthcare professionals. Launched in 2016 from an initial non-profit initiative, the platform was developed to address the critical need for accessible, up-to-date clinical guidance in the local healthcare environment.
Dr Khan’s work with EMGuidance reflects a commitment to improving frontline decision-making and patient outcomes through practical digital innovation. The platform has been internationally recognised and widely integrated by clinicians, professional bodies, and industry partners.
