Anushka Singh Bhima

Anushka Singh Bhima is the founder of Dr Legal, a medico-legal consultancy supporting healthcare professionals to practise ethically, lawfully, and in accordance with professional regulatory standards.

With a background in law and extensive experience working alongside doctors, nurses, and allied health professionals, Anushka specialises in the practical application of healthcare law and ethics, with particular reference to the HPCSA’s Ethical Rules of Conduct, informed consent, patient autonomy, and professional accountability. Her work focuses on helping clinicians meet their legal and ethical obligations while navigating the real pressures of clinical practice.

Anushka is known for her ability to translate complex regulatory and legal requirements into clear, clinically relevant guidance. She addresses common areas of ethical risk — including consent, boundaries, documentation, and decision-making — in a way that is grounded, compassionate, and non-punitive.

Through Dr Legal, she consults, teaches, and presents nationally, supporting healthcare professionals to strengthen ethical reasoning, uphold patient rights, and practise with confidence and integrity within the framework of South African healthcare law and HPCSA standards.
