Dr Daniel Israel completed his MBBCh at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2006 and his Diploma in Anaesthesiology in 2009. Having graduated with a BSc Psychology in the middle of his medical degree as well, he was intent on finding a field in which he would be deeply involved in patients’ lives yet still invested in a strong Scientific knowledge base to improve them. Family practice was clearly his calling. He drew on this own personal experience as a type 1 diabetic, and pursued a special interest in diabetes management. He completed the post-graduate Diploma in Diabetes at the Cardiff University in 2015. He runs a thriving family practice in Melrose Johannesburg, and concurrently manages scores of type 1 and type 2 diabetics with the latest evidence-based approach to the wellbeing of their minds and bodies.
